Product Highlight: iDCS-8000 analog I/O and HART modules

Introduction:

The iDCS-8000 provides a rugged and stable system for wide application so that we can build-up a trusted control system though iDCS-8000. As we know, I/Os of a control system are included not only digital signal but also analog. An analog signal can be used to measure changes in some physical phenomena such as light, pressure or temperature, and it also can control devices with the amount of signal. Thus, the control system is capable of measuring the physical quantities.

Control engineering has an essential role in a wide range of control systems, from simple household washing machines to high-performance & complex space shuttle. It seeks to understand physical systems in terms of inputs, outputs and various components with different behaviors. Therefore, the analog modules are indispensable components in control engineering. For example, a simple negative feedback controls system controls the temperature inside this system. It measures current temperature and calculates an analog value to the cooler or heater.

Moreover, there are two HART modules included in the iDCS-8000 I/Os. The HART (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) protocol uses the Bell 202 Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) standard to superimpose digital communication signals on the 4-20 mA current loop. Thus, the field devices with HART interface can be connected to HART modules to remotely access devices through the current loop without additional communicating wiring.
