ICP DAS have deeply researched on the CAN bus technology for many years. Application short stories:
  • Concrete mixing station system
 
The concrete formulations will be different according to the different purposes. When the proportion of material fed into the batching station is error, the concrete quality will be varied greatly. So the most important mission for concrete mixing station system is strict control of the formulations proportion. The manufactory use material load cells of CAN bus to measure the formulation ratio for fast and safe purpose. These load cells will send out about one thousand CAN messages per second to the CAN network. These CAN messages will be pre-processed by intelligent CAN card, PISO-CM100U, and then it will send the most useful data to the control center. Through this, the control center can monitor the mixing station without increasing additional loading.
  • Battery exchange station for electric motorcycle
 
A battery exchange station handles tens of battery chargers. Those battery chargers communicate with the PC by the CAN bus. When a low power battery is fed in the station, the charger will start to charge the battery and to report the status of the battery to the PC. Until the charge has completed, the PC will inform a robot arm to move the battery to exchangeable area. Because of just a few data which is uploaded by charger, the station uses an economic two CAN ports CAN card to conduct is enough. One CAN port monitor battery data, and the other one controls robot arm for move battery. By separating the monitor channel from the control channel, the system could avoid the data interference and reduce the difficulty of developing.
