The PEX-CM100, an open platform for CAN applications, is designed according to the PCI Express x1 specifications and supports “Plug & play” functionality, making it suitable for installation in embedded systems with a PCI Express x1 bus interface. This product offers a flexible, high-performance, and cost-effective solution for most CAN bus applications. With its built-in single CAN communication interface and 16-bit on-board CPU, it efficiently reduces the load on the host PC when receiving CAN messages, ensuring no data loss, even under high bus loads, while enabling CAN message filtering, preprocessing, storage (with timestamp), and real-time CAN message transmission.

In addition, users can develop user-defined firmware by using the PEX-CM100 firmware library. Through the utility tool, after downloading the user-defined firmware, the default firmware is replaced, enabling efficient data exchange between the PC program and the user-defined firmware through the PEX-CM100’s DPRAM. This integration allows the PEX-CM100 to preprocess CAN data streams, reducing the PC’s processing burden and meeting the real-time requirements of the PC applications. Compared to non-intelligent CAN communication cards, the PEX-CM100 offers significant advantages, particularly for applications running HMI software on the PC.
