I-7540DM-MTCP is the metal shell version of the I-7540D-MTCP module, with both offering the same functions and the same way of use. They can be replaced by each other, making it convenient for customers to choose the appropriate shell module based on their environment.

The I-7540DM-MTCP is a Modbus slave to CAN bus converter. It can exchange the data between the Ethernet and CAN networks for realizing the remote control and monitoring to a CAN network. Through the different operation modes, in addition to providing the Modbus TCP server or Modbus RTU slave functions for various Modbus masters, the I-7540DM-MTCP can also operate the transparent transmission function to link two CAN networks via Ethernet. In the Modbus communication interface, the I-7540DM-MTCP employs standard Modbus function codes 03, 04, 05 and 16, which are commonly used and compatible with the majority of Modbus masters. Moreover, the users can configure up to 30 specific CAN IDs in the I-7540DM-MTCP. When, the I-7540DM-MTCP receives CAN messages that match these configured CAN IDs, it will proactively store these CAN messages in specific Modbus addresses. This functionality enables users to give priority to the processing of messages associated with these specified CAN IDs, based on the specific requirements of their application.
