PMDK is suitable for professional motion development. It integrates a high-speed floating DSP (TI C672x), FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array), I/O buffering circuitries, and application software samples for users to implement different applications. It has plenty of different I/O interfaces. There are six channels of pulse inputs and outputs, six channels of analog inputs and outputs, and many digital inputs and outputs on this card for users to realize their own applications. PMDK can be used on any IPC with 5V PCI bus. In addition to those I/O mentioned above, this card also contains one 2-wired FRnet port which can control up to 128 DI and 128 DO remotely.

For motion control, ICP DAS can provide a variety of motion control functions for users at a very low price, such as multi-axis linear and 2-axis circular interpolations with acceleration/deceleration processing. Various synchronous actions are possible through programming. In another way, users can refer to sample programs and design their own motion functions; these functions can be appended to the old motion command set. DSP program is developed based on a real-time kernel (DSP/BIOS); the firmware development environment is TI Code Composer Studio (CCS3.3 or 5.x). On the PC side, dll for Visual C++ and C# are provided. A VC++ demo sample is provided for reference. Since the CPU loading on PC is quite low, one or more motion cards can be used on a single PC. ICP DAS keeps providing more and more functions and examples to reduce the programming load of users.

PMDK can be used for signal processing purpose, too. The multi-function PMDK is a highly cost-effective solution for users to developing applications for motion control, process control, I/O logical control, digital processing, and other domains.
