Building Automation

Introduction
Why ICP DAS
Applications

The definition of a smart home or a smart commercial building in modern society is substantially inclusive. ICP DAS has devised its own understanding to expand the definition of this standard, which is based on solutions that improve the original facilities and equipment to create an even better living environment, including topics such as the control of the air conditioning system, the demand for indoor lighting, the monitoring of liquid leakage from pipelines, the monitoring of safety records related to personnel access control, the requirements surrounding air and water quality, as well as the acquisition and analysis of electricity data.

ICP DAS’s IoT solution applied in automated stores
ICP DAS’s environmental monitoring & control modules, tGW-715 Tiny Modbus/TCP to RTU/ASCII Gateway, and WISE Intelligent IIoT Edge Controller Series are adopted in this case. The sensor data from machines and the store environment, including machine status, liquid leakage, temperature, humidity, gas, and disaster monitoring, are transmitted to the computer via 4G. Together with ICP DAS’s IIoT software – IoTstar...

Lighting Equipment Monitoring Solutions Tailored for High-rise Buildings
The primary goal for this scenario was to control the lighting equipment and switches in the public spaces of a building. The function of uPAC-7186EG here is a programmable controller and it can handle and transmit the data that acquired from the sensors based on settings. Moreover, ICP DAS high-speed FRnet I/O modules enable to transmit the data from the lighting equipment, and have...

WISE Application in a Linked Fire Alarm System
If a fire is detected, the traditional fire alarm system will send an alarm to the control center to notifying them where the fire has occurred. However, any occupants near the scene of the fire will not receive a notification, so they have no idea of the exact location of the fire. It can be said that they might not have enough information to identify the best escape route or to make the best decision...

Lighting & Air Conditioning Service at a Karaoke/KTV bar
Lighting control and air conditioning are the most critical features for indoor entertainment sites, especially for private Karaoke/KTV rooms. Lighting control usually plays a vital role in creating a pleasant atmosphere, and air conditioning helps to remove unpleasant odors while also adjusting the temperature to ensure a comfortable environment...

Hospital Lighting and Air Conditioning Management System
The ICP DAS TouchPAD(TPD) features all-in-one functions, such as quick deployment, rapid integration, easy maintenance and display, it cutting the cost of installing a PLC and HMI, yet provides similar or even more convenient features. The ICP DAS TPD functions as a communication interface to control the devices, and can work as a controller that is equipped with display functions...

Residential/Commercial Building Leakage Monitoring Applications
The application of leakage monitoring in residential or commercial buildings has become increasingly widespread. For example, a large-scale monitoring system for applications such as a water storage, daily water purification, wastewater discharge pipes, or fire-fighting water systems, or small area monitoring system for items including kitchen sink, bathroom, water tower, or senior home care...

ICP DAS has extensive experience in the monitoring of public space, such as lighting control, sprinkler systems, intelligent street lighting, garden lighting, automatic ventilation systems in underground parking lots, water tower monitoring system, as well as access control systems that can be connected with a property management system, all of which are solutions that have undergone complete market testing.

Public Space Monitoring - Kaohsiung Music Center (Taiwan)
In this scenario, our reliable remote I/O modules, the M-7051D-G and the M-7045D-NPN-G connected to the on-site monitoring devices. Then the PDS-782D and PDS-720, Serial-to-Ethernet Device Server, were employed to transmit the data acquired from the I/O modules and/or other devices via RS-485...

ICP DAS’s Wireless Distress Signal System in Forest Recreation Areas (Taiwan)
The ICP DAS’s iSOS-100 indoor emergency button transmits the distress signal to the iWSN-200U wireless data concentrator in the 433 MHz wireless radio band. The distress signal is then sent to the WISE-5231 IIoT edge controller through the MDC-711 Modbus data concentrator. When an emergency occurs, the notification function of the WISE-5231 controller will immediately send out a distress signal to improve the safety of tourists in the forest recreation area.

The environment and usability of conference rooms is very important for most companies. There are four factors related to the overall usage of a conference room, namely, lighting, air conditioning, air quality, and projection equipment control. Based on these requirements, ICP DAS is able to design and demonstrate solutions for relevant use scenarios that integrate with existing conference room equipment to, including Meeting mode, Briefing mode, and Fully ON or OFF, depending on the equipment present in the conference room that can be adequately configured by the system.

Starting from the three elements, water, air, and electricity, ICP DAS first summarizes a number of key items that should be considered in the computer facilities. The most important aspects in terms of the environment that need to be taken into account first are the access control, water leakage, the monitoring of indoor humidity, the monitoring of electric power information, the uninterruptible power system (UPS), and the detection of 4G signal strength. In addition to the scheduling function for the air conditioning system, , it is also necessary to control the air conditioning by combining the indoor air deflection design for both hot and cold air. It is also necessary to think about the overall Power Usage Efficiency (PUE), such as the monitoring of TAIWANIA II (Supercomputer)
The application of ICP DAS environment monitoring solution in the data center in Turkey
PET-7060 PoE Ethernet I/O Module and DL-100-E-W Remote Temperature & Humidity Data Logger installed enable access control and environmental monitoring of the server room 24/7. The information detected is transmitted to the control center through Modbus TCP over optical fibers, realizing remote monitoring and control of the entrance and environmental variables...
ICP DAS Environmental and Energy Monitoring Solution Applied in Data Centers
A primary combination of ICP DAS’s environmental monitoring modules, M-7000 I/O module series, PM-3133-100-MTCP 3-phase Smart Power Meter, MDC-714 Modbus Data Concentrator, GTM-204M Industrial 4G Modem series, and AVEVA Edge HMI/SCADA software enables server room upgrades with cloud connection. This solution comprehensively monitors power information...

ICP DAS Application Scenario for Vaccine Storage Temperature Control
The temperature monitoring solution offered by the ICP DAS ViewPAC programmable controller and I/O modules enables vaccine warehouse storage facilities to self-monitor temperature and equipment status. This method preserves the vaccine’s stability and antigenicity by storing it at a steady low temperature...
