Introduction:
The tGW-700-UL is a Modbus TCP to Modbus RTU/ASCII gateway that enables a Modbus TCP host to communicate with serial Modbus RTU/ASCII serial devices through an Ethernet network, eliminating the cable length limitation of legacy serial communication.
The module can also be used to establish pair-connection applications (such as serial-bridge or serial-tunnel), allowing Modbus RTU/ASCII devices to exchange data over TCP/IP. This is particularly useful when linking mainframe systems, servers or legacy Modbus serial devices that lack Ethernet capability.
With its space-saving design, the tGW-700-UL can be directly connected to serial devices or embedded into machines, providing flexible and convenient installation. It supports both IEEE 802.3af PoE (Class 1) and DC power input, and features an ultra-low power design to minimize energy consumption. Additionally, the module provides 3000 VDC isolation and +/-4 kV ESD protection, effectively safeguarding equipment against electrical surges.
The module is UL certified, ensuring compliance with stringent safety standards, including fire resistance, electric shock protection, and long-term durability. This certification provides reliable performance in diverse industrial environments.
The UTA version features a conformal coating technology on the PCB, offering excellent resistance to moisture, salt spray, and corrosion. It is especially suitable for harsh environments such as coastal areas, high-humidity locations and marine applications.
