The i-8081W contains a single axis encoder with a position matching circuit. The i-8081W can generate a trigger signal when the motor reaches a specified position. This position is called a break point, and is similar to a switch that is triggered after the motor passes a certain position.
To use the position matching, an initial point (P) should be set, together with a trigger period for the subsequent points (D). The maximum number of (D) point is 255.
The trigger signal is an I/O line that can be used to launch another device. For example, when a motor reaches a certain position, the trigger signal can be used to activate the shutter of a camera to capture an image to be used for defect detection.
All Position matching operations are automatically performed by the hardware circuit, and no software calculation resources are required, when the system is operating. The i-8081W ensures that system design is simpler, and significantly increases system performance. |
