CAN to Ethernet/Modbus TCP/Modbus RTU Converter
 
 
The I-7540D-MTCP is a Modbus slave to CAN bus converter. It can exchange the data between the Ethernet and CAN networks for realizing the remote control and monitor to a CAN network. The main difference from the I-7540D is that the I-7540D-MTCP supports the Modbus slave functions. This feature is very useful to simply the complexity while the Modbus master needs to connect with a CAN network. Through the different operation modes, the I-7540D-MTCP provides not only the Modbus TCP server or Modbus RTU slave functions for various Modbus masters, but the transparent transmission function to link two CAN networks via Ethernet. In the Modbus communication interface, the I-7540D-MTCP selects the standard Modbus function codes, 03, 04, 05 and 16, which would be supported by the most of all Modbus masters. Moreover, you can configure the max. 30 specific CAN IDs in the I-7540D-MTCP. While the CAN messages are coming, the I-7540D-MTCP checks the received CAN messages with these CAN IDs, and maps the CAN messages into the specific Modbus addresses which match the specific CAN IDs. This is helpful to process prior these CAN messages with the specific CAN IDs in some applications. In order to configure the module conveniently, the I-7540D-MTCP has the friendly utility tool. Beside the functions for configuring all parameters of the I-7540D-MTCP, it can be also the Modbus TCP client or the Modbus RTU master for diagnosing or accessing the CAN and Ethernet network while setting up your applications.
