Dear sir,
ICP DAS releases the WinPAC-8449 / 8849 controller (also called WP-8449/8849) at the middle of Feb., 2009 .
It supports InduSoft software version v6.1 SP3 (compatible with earlier version) . By using WP-8x49 integrated with InduSoft, user easily
connected in real-time to remote I/O devices or other data acquisition equipment. These applications consist of animated operator-interface
screens, alarm monitors, logic, trend charts, recipes, schedulers, security system... etc. The WinPAC-8x49 is about 99% compatible with the
Wincon-8x49 / 8x39. Because of new hardware design in WinPAC, WP-8x49 also has better performance and stability than Win-8x39/8x49 does.
Please refer to the following datasheet or web site for more information.

The major difference between the WinPAC-8147/8447/8847 (or called WP-8x47) and the Wincon-8x47 is listed as the following. |
|
|
- The WP-8x49 supports all software feature of the Wincon-8x49 except the Modem_link function (The WP-8x49 doesn't support Modem_link)
- The WP-8149 has one empty I/O slot. The WP-8449 has four slots. The WP-8849 has eight slots. (The Wincon-8x49/8x39 max. has 7 slots only)
- The WP-8x49 has built-in the dual-battery backup SRAM in its backplane for retaining variables and data.
The Wincon-8x49/8x39 doesn't have it (must purchase extra S-256 or S-512)
- The WP-8x49 has built-in two ethernet ports (LAN1, LAN2) and four serial ports (COM1:RS-232, COM2:RS-485, COM3:RS-232/485, COM4:RS-232).
It has two more serial ports than the Wincon-8x49 has.
(Note, WP-8149 have COM1 and COM2 however doesn't have COM3 and COM4. Only the WP-8447/8847 have all of the COM1, COM2, COM3 and COM4)
- The WP-8x49 supports HotSwap I-87K high profile I/O cards (The Wincon-8x49/8x39 doesn't).
- The WP-8x49 supports only I-8K and I-87K high profile cards. Do not use the low-profile I-8K and I-87K I/O in its slot 0 thru 7.
- The WP-8x49 has only one USB port, but the Wincon-8x49 has two. (The WP-8x49 has Software Keyboard or can use an extra USB hub to connect both of the USB mouse and USB keyboard)
- The running speed of the WP-8x49 is much faster than the Wincon-8x49; However, when reading / writing its built-in Micro-SD card is slower than the Wincon-8x49 reading / writing its CompactFlash card.
- The WP-8x49 supports redundant power input. The Wincon-8x49 doesn't.
