The ISaGRAF embedded driver is firmware burned into the flash memory of 
the I-8437-80 / 8837-80. It can be easily upgraded by the user.

Our newly released driver can also be obtained from the following website.

Warning:
  The copyright of the firmware and ISaGRAF embedded driver belongs to ICP DAS CO., LTD. 
  Only the I-8437-80 and 8837-80 have registered a legal ISaGRAF Target license. 
  To burn an ISaGRAF embedded driver into other I-8000 controllers is absolutely 
  illegal and may be punished by law.

Note:
   *******Only the legal I-8x37-80 can get a legal license******

  The I-8x37-80 has embedded license checking since their driver version of 3.20. 
  The I-8x37-80 delivered from ICP DAS after the date of Mar.03,2007 is burned with a legal license. 
  That means they are already licensed.
  If your I-8x37-80 is embedded with old version (driver version 3.18 or earlier ) & 
  wish to update it to version of 3.20 or later. 
  Please contact service@icpdas.com to get a legal license. 
  Please writedown the 8-bytes serial No. & product serial No of your I-8x37-80 as below, 
  for example.
    8-byte Serial No : 	01  98  E1  A7  08  00  00  30   
    Product serial No. : 	I84370006HA0001    (listed on the shell or backplane of your I-8x37-80)


This Document Details How To upgrade the OS & ISaGRAF driver For The I-8x37-80 Embedded Controller.

Make sure of your current OS & driver version before you upgrade it. 

1. Create a file folder named "8000" in your hard drive. 
   For example, "c:\8000".

2. Copy \Napdos\ISaGRAF\8000\Driver\80M\I8x37_5.00\"7188xw.exe", "7188xw.ini" , "7188xw.f4" ,
   "isa.exe" , "autoexec.bat" & "C836_20200120.IMG" from the CD_ROM into your "8000" folder.

3. Run "\8000\7188xw.exe" in your hard drive. 
   A "7188xw" screen will appear (Press F1 for help). 

4. Link COM1 or COM2 of your PC to COM1 of the I-8x37-80 controller through a RS232 cable. 
   If you PC is using another COM port (for example, COM5), 
   please exit 7188xw.exe first, then modify the first line in the 7188xw.ini file 
   as below  C1  B115200  P0  D8  S1    ===>   C5  B115200  P0  D8  S1 
   Then run 7188xw.exe again,

5. Power off the I-8x37-80 controller, connect pin "INIT*" to "INIT* COM" and then power it up.

6. If the connection is Ok, messages will appear on the 7188xw screen.

7. Type "ver" to see the current OS version.

8. Type "isa *p=" to see the version No. of the ISaGRAF driver

      Use 'isa *f=1' to free COM1, 'isa *f=0' to set COM1 as Modbus RTU

To upgrade an ISaGRAF embedded driver, follow the following steps.  

9. Power off the I-8x37-80 controller, connect pin "INIT*" to "INIT* COM" 
   and then power it up.

10. Press "F4" to auto run "isa_data.exe" and dowload "autoexec.bat","isa.exe"
    ,"C836_20200120.IMG" and reboot system. Wait about 90 SEC. to update ISaGRFA system.
   
   ***DO NOT REMOVE THE POWER IN THESE 90 SEC.***   

11. Type "dir" to make sure "autoexec.bat" and "isa7188e.exe" 
    are well burned.

12. Press ALT_X to exit "7188xw".

13. Remove the connection between "INIT*" - "INIT* COM", reset the I-8x37-80.
