Introduction

The Industrial Internet of Things should be considered from the concept of points, lines and surfaces by taking the variety of intelligent I/O, sensors, actuators and motion control cards developed by ICP DAS as the starting point for the front-end equipment, linking those points into different lines through the corresponding bridges, gateways, converters and intelligent controllers, and then integrating the different lines to form the corresponding application surface. It is by starting from the on-site demand, as well as meeting the actual requirements of our customers in this manner, that ICP DAS believes that the performance of the Industrial Internet of Things ought to be.

Why ICP DAS

  • ICP DAS possesses professional Fieldbus R&D and integration capabilities, which allows us to provide the most suitable solutions for different application scenarios.

  • Our products are designed to meet the needs of the industrial environment, and are excellent for noise immunity and reliability.

  • ICP DAS has developed various IIOT and Industry 4.0 Communication standard modules based on the MQTT, OPC and UA protocols, which can measure a wide variety of air factors, electricity information, vibration, and temperature to meet the demands of industrial applications.

  • ICP DAS has a strong ODM capability and can provide customized services depending on the needs of our customers.

Applications

The approach to the features required in the IT and industrial control field is in fact quite different, especially when considering aspects such as communication protocols and data formats. Consequently, ICP DAS provides solutions by reviewing the hardware that might be required in order to address the needs of all parties, thereby reduce the labor cost incurred by the intermediary configuration. For example, an MQTT broker is the most common hub implemented when considering IOT, while OPC UA (Unified Architecture) is used at an industrial site to connect to the Cloud.

  • MQTT is the most commonly used messaging protocol employed in the IOT industry, which can be regarded as a bridge for the data transmission between field devices. In order to more concisely and efficiently render communication between the IT site and the OT site, ICP DAS has developed a series of UA schemes based on the MQTT protocol, that allow the modules to be integrated between the devices through the OPC UA using different communication languages, providing a standardized encryption format for the data that can be confidentially uploaded to the Cloud.

  • By correctly configuring the hardware settings for an UA IO series device in the field to integrate machine communication languages via the OPC UA, data transmission becomes more concise and intuitive when attempting to solve previously complex data uplink and confidentiality issues.

Allowing CAN devices to be added to existing networks without needing to modify or adjust the hardware or software. It also provides high-level security and efficient control in real-time. In the past, an RS-485 interface relied completely on the software mechanism; The determination of packet accuracy and preventing packet collision was performed by the software program...etc。

OPC UA: New Generation Technology for Standard Industrial Communication

The OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA), released in 2008, is a standard technology for industrial automation communication. It is a platform that integrates all technology standards such as OPC DA, HA, and AE, etc. It features reading and writing real-time data, accessing historical data, and event/warning publishing functions.

ICP DAS utilizes its own IoTstar cloud management software, together with its own WISE, PMC and PMD intelligent controller series to manage the data collected by the I/O devices being controlled, or perform the logic configuration for scheduling control, which authentically shares the computing burden and realizes real-time intelligent control in the field. The control scheme provides the following features:

  • Reduction in the communication loading required for the central control computer that may have limited bandwidth

  • Capable of performing DPA (Data Processing Addendum) for data concentrators to ensure data integrity if there is a communication outage

  • Expandability and reliability of the I/Os being controlled

  • Real time and historical databases

  • Logic decision configuration is available, (LINE, WeChat real-time alarm function), (two-way LINE Bot alarm and control function)

  • Supports both public and private cloud systems
