2. Simplified Daisy Chain Wiring
The ETL-2200 series has a built-in two-port Ethernet switch to implement daisy-chain topology. This simplifies wiring configuration and maintenance, reduces cabling costs and the need for additional switches, and improves network scalability.
3. LAN Bypass
The built-in Ethernet switch in the ETL-2200 series supports a LAN bypass function. This ensures that when a module in the Daisy Chain loses power, other devices in the network can continue to communicate without interruption to downstream devices.
4. DIO Pair-Connection (Mirror)
The ETL-2200 Ethernet I/O modules support various I/O types .The module can be used to create DI to DO pair-connection (mirror) through the Ethernet. Once the configuration is completed, the modules can automatically read the local DI status and write to remote DO channels via the Modbus TCP protocol in the background.
5. Network Configuration
The ETL-2200 series supports DHCP for automatic IP address assignment, reducing configuration errors and IP conflicts caused by manual setup. It also provides a UDP response function, allowing the module to reply to eSearch Utility queries and return device information (such as IP address and MAC address), improving management efficiency.
6. Built-in Web Server
A built-in web server that provides an intuitive web management interface to allow users to modify the settings of the module including DHCP/Static IP, gateway/mask, and serial ports.
7. Built-in Dual Watchdog
The module provides dual watchdog: CPU watchdog (hardware function) and host watchdog (software function). The dual watchdog is an important feature that ensures the module operates continuously, even in harsh environments.1) CPU Watchdog:
The CPU watchdog which automatically resets the CPU if the built-in firmware is operating abnormally.
2) Host Watchdog:
The host watchdog sets the digital output with predefined safe-value when there is no communication between the module and the host (PC or PLC) for a period of time (watchdog timeout).
