Introduction

Many applications in industrial environments require converting force into measurable electrical signals. Strain gauges or load cells can usually accomplish this task. However, the question remains: How do we process the measurement data from these electrical signals?

The I-7016 series modules are designed not only to process data from weighing sensors or strain gauges but also to provide linear mapping functionality. By using user-defined mapping tables, the measured data can be directly converted into weight. This series supports full-bridge strain gauges and offers the following I/O features:
 

  • Strain Gauge Input Channels: 1-ch or 2-ch. Configurable voltage or current input ranges.
  • Excitation Voltage Output Channel: 1-ch. Output Range: 0 to +10 V, drive capacity up to 40 mA.
  • Digital Input Channel: 1-ch. Configurable for general input or 50 Hz event counter.
  • Digital Output Channels: 4-ch. Configurable for general output or high/low alarms.
