From Solar Street Lights to Liquid-Cooled Server Rooms, ICP DAS Builds Comprehensive Smart Cities
High energy costs, equipment downtime risks, and insufficient monitoring are hidden challenges for businesses. At Energy Taiwan 2025, ICP DAS will showcase comprehensive solutions in energy management, energy storage monitoring, and safety — all designed to boost efficiency, reduce costs, and drive the development of smart cities and the realization of net-zero goals.
Smart Power Meters and Energy-Saving Control: Streamlining End-to-End Energy Management
ICP DAS provides one-stop energy management solutions, from front-end data acquisition to back-end visualization and management, addressing key energy challenges faced by businesses.
The smart power meter series includes single-phase, three-phase, and multi-circuit types, supporting wired (RS-485, Ethernet, CANBus) and wireless (iWSN-9601/9603 Series) communication. These meters support multiple protocols, provide accurate measurements, and feature intelligent alerts to ensure real-time, reliable data acquisition.
By deploying PMC/PMD Series Power Meter Concentrators, data can be transmitted to SCADA, PMMS, or the IoTstar cloud platform, helping enterprises manage energy costs and achieve their ESG objectives.
ICP DAS solutions have been adopted in real-world applications. For example, in a screw manufacturing plant, the system monitors plant-wide equipment in real time, prevents exceeding contracted power limits, and enables predictive maintenance through data analysis.
For energy demanding equipment such as air conditioners, chillers, and cooling towers, the AI-based energy-saving control system automatically detects load variations and schedules the equipment activation and deactivation. With adaptive PID control, the system empowers facilities to surpass ASHRAE 90.1 energy efficiency standards.
Smart Power Grid and Solar Applications: Reliable Communication, Intelligent Lighting
ICP DAS offers the MDC-700 Series Modbus Data Concentrator, designed to collect data from a large number of Modbus RTU devices and ensure reliable data transmission in solar power plants and industrial sites. The MDC-700 Series supports 250 Modbus commands and 9600 registers, and supports data aggregation and prioritized command processing to enhance communication stability.
The Smart Solar Street Lighting Solution is built around the GTP-541M 4G Multi-function Controller, integrating solar power generation with lighting control. Through 4G connectivity and the M2M RTU Center, it enables remote control, one-second light activation, and real-time status reporting. The RTU Center supports multiple communication protocols (OPC DA, Modbus TCP, RTU API, RESTful API) for cross-platform integration, real-time monitoring, and flexible system expansion to meet smart city lighting requirements.
Energy Storage Monitoring: Ensuring Safety and Reliable Communication
For Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), ICP DAS provides a multi-layer monitoring solution. The DL Series — Gas/Temperature/Humidity Sensors, combined with the CA-LLD-DC100X Liquid Leak Detection Cable, enable early detection of abnormal temperature rise. I/O modules can trigger fire alarms and control ventilation to ensure safe and stable operation.
In terms of communication, the I-7532M-FD 2-port CAN/CAN FD Bridge offers 3000 VDC isolation and supports integration of multiple protocols. It efficiently handles high data traffic to ensure stable and reliable communication between the BMS and PCS systems.
Safety Monitoring: AI-Powered Server Rooms and Smart Parking for Equipment and User Protection
With the rising demand for AI computing power, ICP DAS presents a liquid-cooled server room safety monitoring solution featuring the iSN-101 Liquid Leak Detection Module, DL-100/10 Series Temperature and Humidity Sensors, and the tM-P8 Isolation Digital Input Module for valve control. This integrated system ensures stable operation and reduces downtime risks.
For smart parking applications, the solution integrates the iSN-301H 1-ch Rangefinder Module for parking space detection and the iKAN-216 LED display for real-time parking guidance. Together with the iSN-813-MTCP Infrared Temperature Sensing Module and the CL-201-E Air Quality Sensor, it ensures the safety of electric vehicles and charging stations while improving parking management efficiency.
