Introduction

XP-8x31-CE6 Series is the new generation Windows CE 6.0 based PACs of ICP DAS. It is equipped with an x86 CPU (1 GHz, dual-core), various connectivity (VGA, USB, Ethernet RS-232/485) and 1/3/7 I/O slots for high performance parallel I/O modules (high profile I-8K Series) and serial I/O modules (high profile I-87K series). The benefits of running Windows CE 6.0 on XPAC include hard real-time capability, small core size, fast boot speed, interrupt handling at a deeper level and achievable deterministic control. XPAC is also capable of running PC-based control software such as Visual Basic .NET, Visual C#, …. etc. It has all of the best features of both traditional PLCs and Windows capable PCs.
 

Local I/O and Communication Expansion Modules

There are 1, 3, 7 slot options provided to expand the local I/O. And the I/O modules can be parallel bus type (I-8K series) or serial bus type (I-87K series).
The I/O slots support parallel bus type (I-8K series) and serial bus type (I-87K series) I/O modules. These modules provides wide-range options for different I/O combination to implement all kinds of I/O functions such as: AI, AO, DI, AO, counter input, frequency input, PWM output, motion control, memory, communication, etc.

Instructions for upgrading from XP-8x41-CE6/XP-8x41-Atom-CE6 to XP-8x31-CE6

• Compared with the XP-8x41-Atom-CE6, the dimensions and the peripheral communication interface are completely compatible with the XP-8x41-Atom-CE6. So it can replace XP-8341-CE6 and XP-8x41-Atom-CE6 directly.
• The first version of OS (version 1.0.0.0) for XP-8x31-CE6 series doesn’t support interrupt function, thus I-8112W, I-8114W, I-8114iW, I-8142iW, I-8144iW,
  I-8048W and I-8014W cannot be used on XP-8x31-CE6 at this moment. The next OS version will provide interrupt function.
