The tDS-700-UL series module is a tiny Serial-to-Ethernet device server that converts RS-232/422/485 serial communication into Ethernet, enabling previously non-networked devices to be connected to a network. After configuration using the VxComm Driver/Utility, the module’s built-in COM Port can be virtualized as a standard local COM port on a Windows host. This allows quick deployment in various network applications without requiring additional software installation or modification.
 
With its space-saving design, the tDS-700-UL can be directly connected to serial devices or embedded into machines, providing flexible and convenient installation. It supports both IEEE 802.3af PoE (Class 1) and DC power input, and features an ultra-low power design to minimize energy consumption. Additionally, the module provides 3000 VDC isolation and +/-4 kV ESD protection, effectively safeguarding equipment against electrical surges.
 
The module is UL certified, ensuring compliance with stringent safety standards, including fire resistance, electric shock protection, and long-term durability. This certification provides reliable performance in diverse industrial environments.
 
The UTA version features a conformal coating technology on the PCB, offering excellent resistance to moisture, salt spray, and corrosion. It is especially suitable for harsh environments such as coastal areas, high-humidity locations and marine applications.
