Introduction:
Providing a variety of digital I/O functions, the ET-2255 module is an IP-based Ethernet I/O monitoring and control module. The module can be remotely controlled through a 10/100 M Ethernet network by using Modbus TCP/UDP protocol. Modbus has become a de facto standard communications protocol in industrial applications, and is now the most commonly available means of connecting industrial electronic devices. This makes the ET-2255 module being perfectly integrated with the HMI, SCADA, PLC or other software systems.
The ET-2255 provides 8 wet/dry contact Digital Input channels and 8 sink-type Digital Output channels. With 2 Ethernet ports, the ET-2255 allows daisy chain connection which enables flexibility in locating devices; easy installation and lower infrastructure costs. It features optical isolation for 3000 Vrms of transient overvoltage protection but doesn’t provide channel-to-channel isolation. Each input channel can be used as a 32-bit counter and each output channel can drive 650 mA load. The power-on value and safe value of digital output channel are programmable. It can safely be used in applications where hazardous voltages are present. It features 8 kV ESD protection, 4 kV EFT protection, 3 kV surge and 3750 VDC I/O isolation to enrich the noise protection ability for industrial environment.
The module can be used to create DI to DO pair-connect through the Ethernet. After configuration, the ET-2255 module can continuously poll the status of the local DI channels and then write to the remote DO devices via the Modbus/TCP protocol.
It is equipped with removable terminal block connector for easy and robust wiring in industrial applications, and features a powerful 32-bit ARM MCU to handle efficient network trafficking.
