ICP DAS officially announces the product release of 8-slot CANopen remote I/O unit, CAN-8823. CAN-8823 is belonged to the family of CAN-8x23 (CAN-8123, CAN-8223, CAN-8423 and CAN-8823), which is a CANopen remote I/O unit specially designed for the slave devices of CANopen protocol with 1, 2, 4 or 8 expanding I/O slots. In addition to release the new product, the functions of CAN-8x23 are also upgraded. The new CAN-8x23 supports two more I/O modules, I-87042W and I-87026PW. The I-87042W is a high density DIO module with 16-DI and 16-DO channels on. The I-87026PW is a multi-function I/O modules. It includes 6-AI, 2-AO, 2-DI and 2-DO channels. The new functions of the CAN-8x23 also allow the inverse of the maximum and minimum value of the AI channels. When applying the AI module and the measurement circuit is opened, the response value may be the maximum or minimum value of the AI input range depended on the characteristics of different AI modules. This function is useful to define the response value to be the maximum or minimum of the input range when the circuit of analog input is broken.
The CAN-8x23 also supports the Save and Load functions of CANopen protocols. The Save command is used to save current configuration of CANopen parameters of the plugged slot modules. After power on the CAN-8x23, the saved configuration will be applied automatically. If the incorrect module inserted into the CAN-8x23 doesn’t match the one of the configuration, the CAN-8x23 informs by an EMCY message.
The Load command is to set the CANopen parameters to be as factory default. |
