NEW Product:I-5534-M Robust 4-port Industrial CAN bus Switch with metal casing
 
 
The I-5534-M is a CAN switch used to establish a connection among four CAN bus sub-networks. In order to solve the problem of the star topology within the CAN network, the I-5534-M is specially designed for integrating four CAN networks or solving the star topology. Not just like general CAN repeater, the I-5534-M has four more important features.
(1) Extending CAN bus working distance.
(2) Connecting four CAN sub-networks with different baud rate.
(3) Support Star or Tree topology.
(4) Provide higher stability and reliability especially in harsh environment.

The transmission distance limitation of the CAN bus system on each port of the I-5534-M is independent, which means the total CAN network distance can be extended by routing mechanism as the figure below.
 
 
The I-5534-M could transfer CAN messages among four independent CAN networks. When the CAN bus system on one port of the I-5534-M has some error (e.g. bus short), the system on the other three ports still work on correctly. Besides, the I-5534-M provides message filter to avoid the influence of the network with low baud. The baud rate of four CAN ports can be different for highly flexibility as shown in the following figure.
 
 
In general, users use the daisy-chain method to connect all CAN devices in their applications. In some cases, the “Star” or “Tree” topology may be needed. The I-5534-M which has four independent CAN ports could solve the topology problem of the CAN network. The following two figures show the CAN network with “Star” topology and “Tree” topology.
 
 
Besides, I-5534-M provides the friendly utility tool for user-defined baud rate、route path and filter configuration. When users use the I-5534-M on two or more CAN networks which have different CAN baud rate, the route path and CAN filter may be useful to reduce the bus loading on the network with lower baud rate.

  • The metal casing provides higher protection on EMS or other electromagnetic noises.
