Application Notes: tPET Series + PET-7000 Series

This application note indicates the ideal cases that only a few of DI/DO required in every different place. It introduces an example of I/O pair-connection (Push Mode) as below using:

8 x tPET-P2R2 iTotal 16 x DI j
and 1 x PET-7042 i Total 16 x DO j

First, please refer to following figures:

Next step, please configure the setting of pair-connection in web configuration of every tPET module.

Type the IP Address and port number of PET-7000

If using Push mode, please modify the values of following address, count and time. iDI of tPET series are mapped to DO of PET-7000j

In this case, every DI of tPET-P2R2 is mapped to different DO of PET-7042. So their setting values in remote DO address are different.
Once these configurations are completed, the pair-connection between DI of tPET-P2R2 and DO of PET-7042 has been created through the Ethernet.

The advantages of this application architecture are as follow:

1. User can enable Pair-connection function by easy setting in web configuration without any programming work.
2. In the pair-connection mode, the modules can operate well in Ethernet or independent network even without computers.
3. Using Push Mode method in pair-connection will reduce the network loading. (High efficiency).
4. Cost-effective solution.

Through this example case, the DI status of local channels can be easily transferred to the remote DO devices via the common Modbus/TCP protocol. Especially ideal for the digital I/O devices that do not themselves have Ethernet capability.

Note:
Using the monitor function in eSearch utility on PC, user can identify the statuses of all tPET modules intuitively in the same LAN network.
The font color Blue/Red means Alive/Dead.
