GW-7553 (PROFIBUS/Modbus TCP Gateway) firmware update and new functions release (Support PROFIBUS DP-V1)
 
 
The GW-7553 is a PROFIBUS Gateway to support PROFIBUS DP Slave and Modbus protocols. It allows the PROFIBUS Master to access the Modbus TCP Master/Slave devices. These Modbus TCP devices can be a PLC, a sensor, ICPDAS PACs, I-8KE4-MTCP, ET-7000 series, and so forth. New GW-7553 provides PROFIBUS DP-V1 service. PROFIBUS DP-V1 is the extension of DP-V0, it extend the original cyclic data exchange to acyclic data exchange.

PROFIBUS DP-V1 extension consists of two parts:
  1. Master-Slave acyclic communication Class 1 (MSAC_C1)
  2. Master-Slave acyclic communication Class 2 (MSAC_C2)

MSAC_C1 Master class 1 reads a data block from the slave (Read)
Master class 1 writes a data block to the slave (Write)
An alarm is transmitted from the slave to the master, which explicitly acknowledge receipt (AlarmBAlarm_Ack)
MSAC_C2 Setup of a connection for acyclic communication between the master class 2 and the slave (Initiate)
Master class 2 reads a data block from the slave (Read)
Master class 2 writes a data block to the slave (Write)
Master class 2 can write application-specific data acyclically to the slave and, if required, read data from the slave in the same cycle (Data Transport)
Termination of a connection for acyclic communication between the master class 2 and the slave (Abort)
 
The new firmware (version 2.0) adds PROFIBUS DP-V1 acyclic communication. It provides acyclic read & write service for both master class 1 and master class 2, and it also provides initiate serviceBabort service and acyclic Data Transport service for master class 2.
