ICP DAS New Product: GW-7434D (Modbus TCP server to DeviceNet master Gateway)

Introduction:
The GW-7434D is one kind of the CAN bus products of ICP DAS. It is a powerful gateway, and can be a VxComm device, a Modbus TCP/RTU transformation, or a Modbus TCP server to DeviceNet master gateway.

When the GW-7434D is a VxComm device, the RS-232/485 ports of the GW-7434D can be mapped to the virtual COM port of the userˇ¦s PC via Ethernet. It is useful to convert a serial port interface to Ethernet interface. Besides, it also provides a solution if the device with a serial port is controlled by the userˇ¦s PC which doesnˇ¦t have enough real serial port to communicate with the device.

The Modbus TCP/RTU transformation function of the GW-7434D can combine the Modbus RTU devices with the Modbus TCP network. It is usually applied in the PLC slave devices which donˇ¦t have any Ethernet port if users need the Modbus TCP server functionality of the PLC slave device. The most important of all, different from the I-7243D, the GW-7434D solves the transfer problem among the DeviceNet network, the Modbus TCP, and Modbus RTU network. It enables DeviceNet networks to be coupled together over the Ethernet or RS-232/485, whereby remote monitoring and control is possible. According to these two features above, users can integrate the IO conditions from the DeviceNet network or the Modbus RTU network by using the SCADA software.

In addition, user-friendly utility software helps users configuring the GW-7434D parameters. Users can arrange the Modbus address for the information of each DeviceNet slave device. The utility also checks the connection status and I/O data of each DeviceNet slave. Therefore, if users want to debug or monitor the DeviceNet network, it is helpful to check the DeviceNet network status and access the DeviceNet for testing.
