CAN-8x23 (CAN-8123, CAN-8223, and CAN-8423) are CANopen remote I/O units specially designed for the slave devices of CANopen protocol with 1/2/4 expanding I/O slots. In addition to supporting more I/O modules, it also provides I-8080 and I-8084 counter modules for various applications. For high profile I/O modules hot-swap function: now two EMCY messages will be transmitted to warn users when an existing module being removed or a new module being plug in. It is convenient for users to check the module status at anytime. Besides, we provide “save” and “load” commands of CANopen. The “save” command helps to save current configuration of slot modules. When a CAN-8x23 receives a “save” command, it will perform configuration of the slot modules automatically when power on. If a module being inserted into a CAN-8x23 doesn’t match the module name of the configuration, it will be detected and an EMCY message will be sent out for notification. This may be helpful to avoid the users to misplace wrong slot module into a CAN-8x23. The “load” command provides a convenient method to restore the configuration of slot modules to the factory-default settings.
