The European Union has again outlined landmarks in the history of mankind on July 1, 2006. The EU announced the RoHS directives to make a better living environment. And also at the same time, the RoHS directives made a deep impact on a large number of “Electrical & Electronic” manufacturers who export goods to the EU. Many “Electrical & Electronic” manufacturers made efforts to match the RoHS directives requirements. however, some of them went into another direction choosing to fool the market. Therefore, in 2008, the EU has decided to make more strict enforcement of the RoHS directives. The EU starts with full investigation on their market to make sure that electrical & electronic products follow the RoHS directives which represent that the contents of lead, mercury, Cadmium, Cr6+, PBB and PBDE (Deca-BDE, a substance that belongs to PBDE has been forbidden since July 1, 2008) in a single product have to be below the limits.

ICP DAS has already been preparing for producing fully RoHS-compliant products since in late 2004, and a fully RoHS-compliant product was born in early 2006; since then, we can assure you of every standard product of ICP DAS being fully RoHS-compliant. In other words, you can absolutely take our products going through the gate of the EU freely.

The outer shell of all ICP DAS's products is made of PC (80%) + ABS (20%) which contain no flame retardant at all. Inside our products, we also use the highend PCB with the contents of PBB and PBDE compliant with RoHS directives. As being a pioneer, ICP DAS made a huge invest in 2005 to bought itself a RoHS detector “XRF analyzer”; since then, we have made our products more transparent to our customers.

Nowadays, the EU adopts the same XRF analyzer as a weapon to guard their home. From random samples, a supervision action in the market of Belgium, the EU found out an unbelievable fact that up to 20% of the products in the market failed to pass the examination.

ICP DAS has also used the XRF analyzer on ICP DAS-like products in the market recently, and the fact turns out that we got nearly same results with EU's. Only different thing is that whole ICP DAS's products successfully passed.
